I
Poor Baby
By Lily Raney
Once upon a time there was a woman named Polly Burns and she was pregnant with twins. One was a boy and the other was a girl. The boy's name was Joe and the girls name was Julie. As Polly was sitting there looking at her two babies a tear started to roll down her cheek and then she softly leaned her head back on to the pillow she softly whispered I can’t do this I can’t keep them. Just then she heard two little laughs and as she lifted her head back up again, she could see that their eyes were open and they started to laugh. She began to smile as big as the sunshine did. Then the nurse knocked on the door and as she came in there was another lady with her
“Are you ready?” Yea Polly said acting like she wasn't hurting inside as the nurse went out of the room. Polley couldn't help it her little angles were gone. Wait! Here give those to them as she handed them a pair of blue socks and a pair of pink socks and on the socks, it had their initials on both of them and it had two rings in the socks. But before she walked out Polly said do u mind taking a picture of me and the babies just so I am this memory forever. The lady said Of course I will so they did and then as the lady walked out carrying the picture in her hand all you could here was the lady crying.
It was days later and Polly was still out in the cold street her mouth with no water and her stomach growling at her but she could not find some food and sitting on a cold cement with no shelter It was so windy that one of the tree’s fell down and she could hear it too. When the tree fell, she jumped and then put her head back down between her knee’s holding the rings but then the howling sound of wind blew away with the rings and the rings were just blowing in the wind and then it falls into a little brick house.
TEN YEARS LATER
The Women is still on the streets trying to stay warm and then she sees a shadow and she looks up and right there are two people smiling at her and then they both say want to go home? Polly says but I don’t have a home. Then the two people get on their knees and say yes you do and it’s with us as they pull out the rings and the socks that they got when they were babies.
No, it can’t be. But it is mom it’s really us but why did you come looking for me? Why? Because you never gave up on us and we are not going to give up on you. Because our step mom once told us that our real mom was so brave that she gave you a better future even if it wasn't with her but when step mom said that we knew that one day we would find you and take you home. So, they got home and the son tells her there is more good news You're going to be a GRANDMA!!! YAY!!!!!!! And that is the story of a pregnant mom giving her children away and reuniting with her family.
